Racehorse Rehab is dedicated to helping acheive a better future for ex racehorses. We recognise that there is a need for ex racehorses to be retrained and appropriatly rehomed. We started up through a facebook page, on March 5th 2013. 8 months later we already have over 2500 supporters on our page and that number is growing daily. We have helped rehome about 70 horses in the 8 months we have existed, and the rate is going up quickly as we grow. We constantly have horses advertised on our facebook page.  We recognise that the racing industry is a vital part of the Australian economy...''The horse racing industry generates more than $6.2 billion in revenue for the Australian economy each year and provides jobs for 250,000 people, demonstrating the reach of racing industry on our culture.  We also recognise, that in terms of welfare, some changes are needed. One of those areas is in retraining and appropriatly rehoming ex racehorses after their racing carees are finished. We believe that this is a goal that eveyone agrees on, no matter what part of the horse industry they are from, if you ask the question ''do you want there to be a better future for ex racehorses after racing?'' The answer is always going to be yes. Thats where we come in... our ultimate goal at Racehorse Rehab is to see retraining centres Australia wide, like the ones already sponsered by the racing industry in NSW and VIC. For now, we are working towards gaining sponsorship to start up a facility on the sunshine coast.
